Your handle is an identity, not a mailbox
A CatalystLinkKeys account gives you a unique handle such as ada@catalystlinkkeys.com. LinkKeys doesn't want you to have to use another symbol. Catalyst signs claims connecting that handle to your LinkKeys identity and to the external email you verified during signup.
It does not create an email inbox, forward mail sent to the handle, or replace your existing email provider. Other providers might, and that's fine, but we want you to be comfortable keeping what you have. We add to what you have, we don't need to change you.

What applications receive
Until you authorize them, nothing except they don't have to implement everything we already do. A compatible application sends a signed authorization request naming the claims it wants. CatalystLinkKeys shows that request to you. Claims are released only after authorization and are bound to the requesting audience.
Some claim types may be self-service, require verification, or wait for domain review. A pending claim is not released as if it were already verified.
What the domain operates
CatalystLinkKeys runs the identity domain, protects its signing keys, verifies signup emails, applies claim and release policies, reviews requested claims when required, and handles abuse and delivery support. Administrative changes are attributed to signed-in operators and recorded in an audit log.
